Download Frames for BlackBerry v3.07

This is the Frames program file that runs on BlackBerry® devices. The demo version of the program allows you score up to six games for each bowler, up to a total of 30 games for all bowlers. Frames for BlackBerry allows you to score multiple bowlers at the same time.

Requirements

Frames for BlackBerry requires v4.7 or newer of the BlackBerry operating system. To check the version of the BlackBerry operating system on your device, go to "Options" > "About" on your BlackBerry. The version should displayed near the top of the About screen.

Installation

Click on the Download link at the bottom of this page from within the browser on your BlackBerry phone to download and install Frames for BlackBerry.

Quick Start

Once you've installed Frames on your handheld, here's some "Quick Start" instructions to get you going:

When you first run Frames, you must add an event, alley and oil pattern using the lists on the main Frames screen.

You can add one or more bowlers when you create an event, start an event, or from the Bowlers list on the main screen.

To begin keeping score, select an event, alley and pattern, enter the starting lane number, and select the Start menu item (or button). The Roster screen will then be displayed so you can set the list of bowlers for the event. Note tht the Bowler and Ball lists on the main Frames screen are not used when you start an event.

While you are scoring on a non-touch screen device:

  • Use the space bar to score each shot.
  • Use the number keys (use "0" for the ten pin) to toggle the pins.
  • Use the "#" (pound sign) to toggle the "Pocket" indicator.
  • Use the "*" (asterisk) to change the selected ball.
  • Use the "/" (slash) to score a strike or spare.
While you are scoring on a touch screen device:
  • Use the ">" button at the bottom of the scoring screen to score each shot.
  • Touch the pins (or drag your finger across multiple pins) to toggle them up and down.
  • Touch the "Pocket" indicator above the pins to toggle it on and off.
  • Use the "Change ball" menu item to change the selected ball.
  • Use the "X" (or "/") button at the bottom of the screen to score a strike or spare.
To view statistics for all of a bowler's games, from the main screen, select the Clear selections menu item (or tap the Clear button), select a bowler in the Bowlers list, then select the Report menu item. You can also optionally select an alley, pattern, event, ball, date range, or lane number before selecting the Report menu item to limit the games included in the statistics (only games that match all of the items you select will be included in the statistics).

To see a list of scores for a bowler, from the main screen, select the Clear selections menu item, select a bowler in the Bowlers list, then select the Scores menu item. You can also optionally select an alley, pattern, event, ball, date range, or lane number before selecting the Scores menu item to limit the scores displayed (only games that match all of the items you select will be included in the scores displayed).

Use the Clear selections menu item or Clear button on the main screen to clear your selections.
